- Grade a batch of literary analyses.
- Grade two classes' annotated bibs.
- Grade two classes' multigenre projects.
- Figure out the logistics of my honors' class final project. They need to take all (fortunately all is only 7) their multigenre projects and from them compile a new one (using one genre piece from each and adding new ones where needed), finding ways to synthesize ideas into a coherent theme. Yesterday we spent the class brainstorming possible themes, with me pushing them to move beyond the surface. My real dilemma is that they will need to pull pieces from their projects into this project, yet, I still need to see their original projects in their entirety. For now, their projects are scattered around my already crowded office.
- Write a handful of letters of recommendation for students.
- Write a proposal for a budget for the GLBT Resource Center.
- Write a proposal for a budget for Obscura, the school's literary magazine.
- Create the spring schedule so the department can select courses before we break for summer.
- Figure out the most logical way to transition part-time lead with Liz and Doug. Since it will happen mostly during the summer, it means more summer work/responsibility for me.
- And at this point, I'm sure, do many more random things that are not firing yet through my brain.
The end, however, does not simply mean all work crap. The end of the semester usually brings plenty of reflection on successes, challenges, and students. More to come.
